Kijana Makini Kamata Uongozi (KIMU) Project


Kijana Makini Kamata Uongozi (KIMU project) is a designed project aimed at raising youth awareness on National Youth Development Policy of 2007  endows youth by  addressing pertaining diverse youth issues and guides possible remedy through meaningful national strategies in relevant sectors. KIMU project supports the Tanzanian government efforts to nurture youth by developing their capacity in understanding their related policy and ultimately empower youth to become responsible, diligent citizen from the family Institution up to civic participation. Emerging from diverse social-cultural and socio-economical backgrounds with different interests and talents, periodic knowledge dissemination sessions are inevitable.

The project identifies 100 youth, empowers them through conducting a tailor-made programme for capacity development in order to  facilitating the formation Community based youth entities and formal registration. The Local Government Authorities Act Finance guidelines  promotes in line with The National Youth Policy will be guiding instruments to recognise the activities and initiatives undertaken by youth groups, youth-focused community-based organisations, non- governmental organisations, civil society movements among other statutory obligations.

KYCo have identified 100 youth 20 each from the 5 Wards which are; Ngamiani Kati, Tangasisi, Nguvumali, Maweni and Central.  Training on familiarization of the National Youth  Development Policy 2007 is a    continuous process  for credibility  to enable  access statutory youth loans from the City council for sustainable development.  KYCo's project lead, project staff, project accountant and support staff are young volunteers taking initiative to handle the project and aspire fellow youth favorably.
