Our Focus
Targeted Population
Young
people are often seen as the future. We know we
are
more than the future, we are
the today. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world. Half the world is
under 30 and nine in ten of these young people live in developing countries.
This is the largest youth population there has ever been. (Restless Development). The number of youths in
the world is projected to grow by 7% to 1.3 billion by 2030, the target date
for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Tanzania is amongst developing countries with the
fastest growing economy, according to the 2002 Population and Housing
Census, the population of Tanzania mainland was 33.58 million people. The total
number of youths between 15 and 35 was 35% of the population. Among them 47.17% and 52.83%. However, youths still face challenges in sectors
such as Education, Unemployment, Culture,
Economic situation, Health i.e HIV
and Aids & Sexual Reproductive Health and Political
situation. These challenges and efforts that
have been done by the government itself have been outlined in the National
Youth Development Policy (2007).
We Believe in Youth
Youth remain vulnerable yet with the advancement in
science and technology in the recent generation they are
already solving the world’s greatest challenges. We
believe in the power of youth if they provided with a safe space to acquire
useful information and knowledge to become creative social innovators, so as
they make informed decisions about their socio- economic development and that
of their communities around them.
